Polymax O-Ring Joining Capabilities
Polymax has expertise in producing high-quality vulcanised O-rings, offering both hot and cold bonding processes to meet diverse sealing needs. Vulcanisation has become an industry standard for joining rubber cords or profiles to create O-rings and Seals especially where non-standard sizes or profiles are required.
Vulcanisation Techniques
Our hot vulcanisation process creates exceptionally strong bonds, ideal for static sealing applications. The cord ends and jointing medium are held in a heated mould, where heat and pressure form chemical cross-links between longchain molecules, followed by a controlled cooling phase. Resulting in a robust bond, making it resistant to moisture and ensuring a long service life.
Our cold bonding process uses instant-grab adhesives to join profiles such as neoprene or EPDM sponge. We use both jigs and automated cutting lines to ensure that sizing is consistent.
